Stuttgart (dpa / lsw) - According to the Ministry of Health, more and more vaccines from the manufacturer Astrazeneca are being used in Baden-Württemberg.
"We have made a significant leap," said a spokesman on Monday.
The demand for appointments is very high, there are few reservations about teachers and educators, said the ministry.
"At times there is no getting through on the hotline because many people try it at the same time," emphasized the spokesman.
"In this case, we ask you to be patient and to try again later or in the next few days."
However, there is still a lot of Astrazeneca vaccine in the refrigerator.
The country had received 278 400 doses up to last week, so far only 45 933 first vaccinations have been recorded statistically.
It is assumed, however, that not everything will appear in the statistics, because the vaccinations take place in the hospitals, but the statistics are recorded in the respective vaccination centers, according to the ministry.
Around 7,000 first vaccinations with Astrazeneca are currently carried out in the country every day.
This week, the country expects another 178,800 vaccine doses from the manufacturer.
"We assume that the amount will be reduced quickly."
In the meantime, more than a million people in the country are also entitled to vaccinations, including teachers, educators and people with previous illnesses.
As soon as the demand subsides, the next opening step will follow in vaccination.
In absolute numbers, it is now in third place nationwide when it comes to the vaccination of Astrazeneca, said a government spokesman.
