Berlin (dpa / bb) - According to the Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians (KV) Berlin, around 3,000 medical practices in the capital are eligible for corona vaccinations.

According to the KV, this can be the practices of general practitioners, but also, for example, of gynecologists or ENT doctors.

The KV is currently preparing a pilot phase with around 120 practices with a focus on diabetology, oncology or nephrology, announced a KV spokeswoman on Monday.

There are also intensive discussions with general practitioners.

"Vaccination in the practices should start as soon as sufficient vaccine is available," says the KV.

"Currently, the end of March or April is assumed."

In Brandenburg, a model project with corona vaccinations in medical practices is to start on Wednesday.

Initially, the project will be implemented in four practices in Bad Belzig, Senftenberg, Pritzwalk and Wittenberge, announced the Ministry of Health in Potsdam, KV and the German Red Cross Brandenburg.

In March, the offer should be expanded to 50 practices.

For regular vaccinations in medical practices, the federal corona vaccination ordinance would have to be changed.
