Guns found in the attic of the Allgäu church

Ruderatshofen (dpa / lby) - A man found two old pistols in the attic of an Allgäu church.

The 62-year-old found the two weapons from the first half of the 20th century, including cartridges, when clearing out the clutter in the church in Ruderatshofen (Ostallgäu district), as the police announced on Monday.

The man then called the police, who picked up the weapons and ammunition.

The police praised the finder's behavior as "exemplary".

Found weapons should therefore under no circumstances be brought to the police yourself.

According to a police spokesman, the two pistols were passed on to the State Criminal Police Office.

There weapons are usually made unusable.
