Kaiserslautern / Waldmohr (dpa / lrs) - A truck driver drove drunk from Waldmohr (Kusel district) to Kaiserslautern to pick up his driver's license and vehicle documents from the motorway police.

The officers took the man's driver's license and vehicle papers away from the man on Sunday evening as he was found at the Waldmohr rest stop on the A6 with 3.24 per mille, the police said on Monday.

When the 43-year-old appeared at the office on Monday morning, he stated that he had come in a taxi.

Since the man smelled of alcohol, another alcohol test was carried out, which showed 1.24 per mille.

The officers then found out that the truck driver had parked his lorry out of sight of the police building and had driven it from the Waldmohr service area to Kaiserslautern, around 30 kilometers away.

Criminal proceedings had been initiated against the man.

He also had to pay 1000 euros.
