Hamburg (AP) - Hamburger SV has missed the leap back to the top of the table in the 2nd Bundesliga.

In the city derby at FC St. Pauli, HSV had to admit defeat 0: 1 (0: 0) and will only go into the next game as fourth in the table after the fourth winless encounter in a row.

Daniel-Kofi Kyereh (88th minute) ensured the neighborhood club's fifth win in a row, which means that they remain the unofficial Hamburg city champion.

Tim Leibold from HSV saw red (90th + 5) after an unsportsmanlike behavior.

After fireworks outside the arena before the match, HSV quickly gained overweight and was unlucky that Sonny Kittel (1st) hit the crossbar with a sharp free kick and Gideon Jung (21st) headed the bar.

After that, however, the Kiezkicker got along better and better and had good chances to get in.

Guido Burgstaller failed from close range on the well-reacting Sven Ulreich (23rd) and the conspicuous Omar Marmoush missed (29th).

After the change, HSV was lucky that referee Deniz Aytekin withdrew his decision on penalty after a duel between Jung and Zalazar (53rd).

Previously, goalkeeper Sven Ulreich had only blocked a cross forward and the video referee intervened.

Since Simon Terodde's HSV goal rightly did not count due to handball (64th) and on the other hand Ulreich cleared against Burgstaller (69th), it looked like a fair division of points for a long time.

Then came Kyereh.
