A draft resolution by the International Atomic Energy Agency, of which Al-Jazeera obtained a copy, expressed concern about Iran's decision to suspend the implementation of the Additional Protocol to the nuclear agreement, and stressed the importance of the independent role of the agency in verifying Iran's obligations.

The draft resolution is presented to the agency’s 35-nation board of governors, which is continuing its quarterly meeting in Vienna this week.

The agency expressed its concern over the discovery of uranium metal residues at a site that had not been announced by Iran, and said that this is evidence of the existence of undeclared Iranian nuclear activities.

The agency confirmed that it had not received a response from Iran to requests regarding the nature of nuclear activities at previously unannounced sites.

The Director-General of the IAEA, Rafael Grossi, stressed the necessity of continuing inspections of Iranian nuclear facilities.

He added that the transparency measures related to the nuclear agreement with Iran no longer exist due to Tehran's suspension of the additional protocol.
