Neuwied (dpa / lrs) - Not only some people from Rhineland-Palatinate may have missed zoo animals in the corona lockdown - it could also have been the other way around.

With a view to the possibility of reopening animal parks in the country from this Monday (March 1st), the director of the largest Rhineland-Palatinate zoo in Neuwied, Mirko Thiel, told the German press agency that chimpanzees “also interact with visitors ».

The zookeepers would have come up with some ideas to keep the monkeys busy while the zoo was closed.

"I think that when the visitors are back now, the chimpanzees will have their daily soap again," Thiel added.

He is looking forward to the reopening.

For organizational reasons, it might not be ready until the new week.
