In Dagestan, a case was opened after the death of police officers as a result of an accident

This was reported in the regional department of the Investigative Committee of Russia.

The incident took place on the morning of February 28 at

33 km of the Makhachkala-Verkhny Gunib highway in the Buinaksky region.

"The suspect, driving a GAZ-3309 (Vodovoz) car, violating the traffic rules, drove into the oncoming lane and collided with an official UAZ car of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs in the Buinaksky district, in which there were three employees of the said department," the press said -release.

Two police officers died at the scene, a third policeman and a truck driver were hospitalized with various injuries.

The case was transferred to the department for the investigation of especially important cases of the investigation department.

In February 2020, a verdict was passed in the Tyumen region in the case of an accident in which the former head of the traffic police of Tobolsk, Viktor Kitov, died.
