At the end of the winter holidays, the Ministry of Health must deploy saliva tests in all schools in order to better track down Covid-19 in establishments.

The government is banking on 200,000 tests carried out each week in schools.

From Monday, the students of zone C, back in class, will begin to test the device, a week after those of zone A, who returned on February 22.

"It is fundamental to test massively to keep schools open. That is what is at stake", argued Sunday at the microphone of Europe Evening Delphine Bürkli, LR mayor of the 9th arrondissement of Paris (zone C).

In Paris, kindergartens and primary schools will be the first establishments concerned by the campaign, to the extent that nasal swab tests are impressive and sometimes painful for the youngest.

Schools will start by asking parents to complete a form to obtain their consent.

"Based on data from the health authorities in Paris, it is the schools most at risk which will be targeted and tested regularly for better efficiency," indicates Delphine Bürkli.

"The ARS has a map showing the places with the most cases detected. It is from this map that we will be able to target the schools most at risk", she explains.

A delay in ignition? 

But in zone A, or theoretically the screening campaign by saliva tests began on February 22, the device has not yet arrived in all schools.

"We had the announcement of the establishment of these saliva tests, by the media and by a ministerial meeting, […] but since no news! And it's been a week since we returned", annoys thus with Europe 1 Cécile Diener-Froelicher president of SNALC Aquitaine, who teaches in a college in Bordeaux.

"I hope that there will be an acceleration on the part of the services of National Education", reacts Delphine Bürkli.

"The device must be able to be massively implemented on the scale of all the territories.", Concludes the councilor.
