The government of the Czech Republic declared a new state of emergency for a period of 30 days, to confront the worsening epidemiological situation in the country, as the death toll from the Corona pandemic in the republic exceeded 20 thousand cases, since the beginning of the outbreak.

Globally, data showed that so far, a total of 225.1 million doses of the vaccine against "Covid-19" have been administered worldwide.

In detail, the state of emergency will continue in the Czech Republic until March 28, according to the "Prague International" radio website.

On Friday, the Czech House of Representatives rejected a proposal to extend the state of emergency, given that it was called upon at the request of regional wise men, and therefore it is subject to legal question.

The Czech government announced that it would prohibit residents from leaving their neighborhoods, starting from March 1, in light of the high number of Coronavirus infections.

It also ordered residents to put masks in workplaces, outside, and populated areas, while all schools and non-essential stores were closed.

Residents will have to prove that they are on their way to work, a doctor, or helping their relatives, to be able to leave their neighborhoods.

And the Czech Interior Minister, Jan Hamsik, announced that due to the large number of infections with the Corona virus, the Czechs will greatly restrict the freedom of movement of citizens around the country.

He added that, from tomorrow, Monday, residents will not be allowed to leave their areas except in exceptional cases, such as: going to work, visiting doctors, and going to government agencies, provided that proof is presented.

"If we do not do this, the world will see Bergamo again in the Czech Republic," Prime Minister Andrei Babis said after a special cabinet meeting, referring to the Italian region, which was severely affected by the Corona virus, last spring.

Yesterday, the Czech Ministry of Health announced that the deaths in the country, as a result of infection with the "Covid-19" disease, reached 20 thousand and 194, of those who had been confirmed to be infected with the emerging corona virus previously.

During the past 24 hours, 14,676 new cases of the virus were recorded in the country.

Johns Hopkins University data showed that the total confirmed cases of "Covid-19" in the Czech Republic reached one million and 212,780 injuries.

The population of this member state of the European Union is about 10 million 700 thousand people.

It has the highest infection rate among the rest of the other countries in the bloc.
