Berlin (dpa / bb) - A drunk driver caused several accidents between Berlin-Schöneberg and Berlin-Steglitz without stopping.

According to witnesses, the bright car with a taxi sign should have crashed into a parked trailer when turning off the Prellerweg into Munsterdamm on Saturday morning, as the police said.

The taxi was apparently traveling without passengers.

After that, the car is said to have rammed several beacons just a few meters away.

Instead of stopping, the 38-year-old driver fled the battered vehicle.

Another taxi driver finally stopped him in Goerzallee.

He noticed the unsafe driving of the badly damaged taxi and two deployed airbags.

The alarmed security forces arrested the heavily drunk and aggressive driver involved in the accident.

Drugs were found in his clothing.

The man came to a hospital.

There is no evidence that it is a stolen taxi, said a police spokeswoman.
