Westhofen (dpa / lrs) - In a building fire in Westhofen (Alzey-Worms district), according to initial estimates, property damage in the six-figure range occurred.

The fire broke out on Friday evening in an apartment building, as the police announced on Saturday.

The two 32 and 45 year old residents were able to leave the house independently before the rescue workers arrived.

A resident injured himself slightly in a fall.

The extinguishing work lasted until the early hours of the morning.

According to the police, the house is uninhabitable and in danger of collapsing.

The roof of a neighboring building was also damaged.

The cause of the fire was initially unknown.
