Mainz / Ludwigshafen (dpa / lrs) - After increased violations of the Corona rules last weekend, the police in Rhineland-Palatinate did not report any major problems this Saturday.

In Ludwigshafen, although some people went to popular places, there were no violations of the Corona rules, said a police spokeswoman.

According to a spokeswoman, there were also no incidents in Mainz, where the police warned last weekend that the corona rules were adhered to.

No violations had been reported in Trier and Koblenz by Saturday afternoon either.

Due to violations of the corona rules in spring-like weather last weekend, the Rhineland-Palatinate Ministry of the Interior announced a nationwide corona control day on Sunday.

More than 100 additional emergency services should, among other things, check the distance requirement and the wearing of medical masks.

The focus is accordingly on popular excursion and local recreation destinations.
