Koserow / Schwerin (dpa / mv) - A few days before the eagerly awaited federal-state corona summit, calls for a quick end to the lockdown are getting louder in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.

On Saturday, hoteliers on the holiday island of Usedom started a poster campaign with which they pointed out the impending consequences of the months-long forced closings.

A cross on a black background and the words “Here is a tourist business at rest” warned of a possible wave of bankruptcies in the industry.

"We are now going into the fifth month without guests and finally need a clear announcement when we will start again," said the hotel operator Michael Raffelt, one of the initiators of the campaign.

The regional business associations also made it clear that they do not want to accept another postponement of the easing for retail, catering and the hotel industry.

In an open letter they demand «Courage to change the system!

Openings - now and everywhere - in compliance with the best possible protection standards ».
