The Norwegian Therese Johaug, huge favorite, won her third world title in skiathlon (7.5 km in classic style then 7.5 km in skating) on ​​Saturday at the Worlds in Oberstdorf (Germany).

Defending champion, Johaug fell in the first part of the race, but quickly recovered to come back in front and mechanically widen the lead to win in front of the two Swedes Frida Karlsson (at 30 seconds) and Ebba Andersson (at 30.2 sec).

Johaug thus won at 32 years old a 16th medal in six participations at the World Championships, his 11th title, the 8th individual.

The French Delphine Claudel surpassed herself to take 7th place (at 1: 22.7), her best result in the discipline which validates her progress at 24 (she had finished 31st in the skiathlon at the 2019 Worlds).
