Sargsyan's press service reported.

It is noted that he returned the relevant documents to Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.

“The President of the Republic, within the framework of his constitutional powers, returned the draft decree with objections,” the statement said.

It is specified that the draft decree was studied by the apparatus of the President of Armenia and discussed in detail with leading lawyers and independent experts.

“Summarizing the opinions of lawyers and experts, we can conclude that the draft decree fundamentally contradicts the Constitution,” the message says.

Earlier, Sargsyan had a meeting with Gasparyan.

On the morning of February 25, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Armenia demanded Pashinyan's resignation.

After that, the Prime Minister of Armenia called the statement of the General Staff calling for his resignation an attempt at a military coup.
