"Fabien tells me that he did not break the rules, I believe so".

The president of the French Rugby Federation Bernard Laporte supported Friday coach Fabien Galthié, suspected of having broken the health bubble of the XV of France.

"I don't know if he got out or not. Did he break the rules? On what I'm told, no. The report will tell. I asked him the question, he told me. says no and I trust him, ”Laporte told RMC.

"Fabien told me that he had respected the protocol. I believe him. Everyone tells me what he wants. The final report will tell me who has failed or not," continued the boss of French rugby.

The coach of the Blues, whose match against Scotland was postponed after a sixteenth positive case, is suspected of having broken health safety rules by leaving Marcoussis one or more times, just before the trip to Ireland.

"I am a pragmatic person. If there are mistakes, we will assume. Is Galthié threatened as it is? Of course not," said Laporte.

After sixteen positive cases of Covid-19, staff and players included, the match against Scotland, scheduled for Sunday, has been postponed to a later date.

According to AFP information, a decision on a new date could be taken next week.

Three dates are under consideration, including that of March 9, a few days before the 'Crunch' against England, on behalf of the 4th day of the 2021 Tournament.

Sports Minister Roxana Maracineanu on Wednesday asked the president of the rugby federation to launch an investigation "in order to understand how the chain of contaminations was formed".
