According to the preliminary balance of the German Weather Service (DWD) on Friday, the average temperature in December, January and February was 1.5 degrees and thus 1.1 degrees above the mean of the international reference period from 1961 to 1990.

In addition, the weather service recorded almost 175 hours of sunshine for winter 2020/21.
