Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman approved, and probably ordered, the murder of Jamal Khashoggi, according to a previously secret US intelligence report.

It reports several media.

The US State Department will later on Friday present measures that have been taken against Saudi Arabia in connection with the murder, the White House announced according to the news agency Reuters.

Saudi citizen Jamal Khashoggi lived in the United States and was a columnist for The Washington Post, in which he sharply criticized the Crown Prince and the Saudi regime.

The journalist and critic of the regime was murdered at the Saudi consulate in Istanbul, Turkey in 2018 when he was to collect marriage documents.

The US intelligence service CIA has previously concluded that the Crown Prince probably ordered the murder, but has not presented any concrete evidence.
