Bremen (dpa) - Meditations in Low German will in future enrich the online offer of the regional center for Low German in Bremen.

It is important to go beyond pure teaching in the ancient language of northern Germany, said the center's director, Christianne Nölting.

She wanted to "carry Low German into modern life".

The “Meditatschon op Platt” should also be “an offer that can generally be lived”.

The motto: "Calm warrn, in sik gahn, with Lief un Seel op fasten Grundstahn" (calm down, go into yourself and stand firmly on the ground with body and soul).

The meditations and fantasy journeys are spoken by the Low German blogger Lisa Wrogemann (27), who is currently studying and researching in Iceland.

“I want Low German to flourish in our generation and become modern again,” she says.

Wrogemann comes from Wietzendorf in the Lüneburg Heath.

She publishes small Low German lessons almost every day on Instagram or on her YouTube channel.

The northern German states of Lower Saxony, Bremen, Hamburg and Schleswig-Holstein jointly support the regional center for Low German.

The work is also funded by the Federal Commissioner for Culture and the Media.
