In Västerbotten, only Vindeln, Storuman, Åsele, Umeå and Skellefteå have action plans, according to a survey by Sweden's municipalities and regions.

- It is completely unacceptable that all municipalities in Västerbotten lack well-thought-out strategies, fixed budgets and plans for effective work to prevent suicide, says Rickard Bracken, Secretary General of Suicide Zero in a press release.

Suicide zero is a non-profit organization that works to reduce suicide.

Data from the National Board of Health and Welfare also show that 30 per cent of all men and 42 per cent of all women who die by suicide have, many times for a long time, had contact with the social services.

Suicide zero wants the municipalities to hurry up and develop action plans.

Vilhelmina is one of the municipalities that does not have an action plan.

In the clip above, you hear Susanna Rolfsdotter, who is head of individual and family care, comment on the criticism.
