Stuttgart (dpa / lsw) - Prime Minister Winfried Kretschmann assumes a swift economic recovery after the Corona crisis.

“I think things will pick up sharply after the pandemic.

I am convinced of that, ”said the Green politician on Friday evening at a panel discussion in the“ Stuttgarter Nachrichten ”on the state election in the House of Business in Stuttgart.

The head of government was asked about the financial policy of the next few years and the corona debts.

Kretschmann said you don't have to drop the cash register because you know what's in the cash register.

It is not yet possible to say how quickly the economy will recover.

"I cannot say what is in bloom for us."

In the current zero interest rate phase, debts are not that bad, said Kretschmann.

In a first tranche, the state government raised around five billion euros, which they want to repay in 25 years.

If you stretch that out, it is bearable for the budget.

One must, however, expect that one would get into a situation in which one could not simply “pour out the cornucopia”.

There will be no exemption from daycare fees for everyone.
