Sotheby's auction house will auction the painting on March 25.

Sotheby’s Senior Director of Impressionism and Modern Art, Etienne Herman, said, “This is an important painting in Van Gogh’s work, because it was created during the period when Van Gogh lived with his brother Theo in Paris.” Van Gogh used bright, vibrant colors for his creations, which contrasted sharply with his earlier works in gray and dark tones.

He left the capital in 1888 for the south of France and lived there until his death in 1890.
