"The Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman has strongly condemned the illegal and aggressive attack by US forces in eastern Syria, which is a violation of international law," the statement on the Foreign Ministry's website said.
According to Khatibzadeh, the United States delivered this blow "in the continuation of Israel's constant aggression."
He also stated that the US strike was a violation of Syria's sovereignty and territorial integrity.
Earlier, the Syrian Foreign Ministry called the US attack in the Deir ez-Zor region "cowardly".
As stated in Damascus, the airstrike is contrary to international law and the UN Charter.
