Munich (dpa / lby) - Due to construction work on the second Munich S-Bahn main line, there will be timetable changes for the S-Bahn on a total of 16 weekends between March and August.

On the weekends concerned, between Friday, 10.30 p.m. and Monday, 4.30 a.m., only one track was available for the S-Bahn between the Laim and Hackerbrücke stations, Deutsche Bahn announced on Friday in Munich.

The restrictions apply on all weekends in March and April, between May 14th and 17th and on all weekends between July 16th and August 23rd.

The timetable change provides that the S-Bahn line 8 coming from the east ends at the Hackerbrücke.

Lines S2, S3 and S4 from the east end at Ostbahnhof.

If you want to continue towards the city center, you have to change there.

From the west, the S1, S2 and S8 lines run from Moosach / Obermenzing / Pasing without stopping to the main station.

The S3 and S4 already end in Pasing from the west.

From there you can change to another S-Bahn or regional transport in the direction of the main train station and city center, the train said.

The S6 and S7, on the other hand, ran in normal operation during construction work, it said.

You S6 will travel with long trains in order to be able to take more passengers.

According to the railway, the construction work includes work on the overhead lines that are required for the second trunk line.

In addition, the tied arch bridge between the Laim and Hirschgarten stations will be completed and moved to its final position.
