• Covid-19, coronavirus today, live

After more than seven weeks closed in Catalonia,

shopping centers

and

stores

of more than 400 square meters will be able to open from 1 March.

The opening, however, will continue to have limitations: from Monday to Friday and with 30% of the capacity.

This is the main novelty of the modifications communicated today by the

Generalitat

in its policy of

restrictions

to stop the contagion of coronavirus.

Last Tuesday, the Secretary of Public Health,

Josep Maria Argimon

, had been in favor of "giving air" to the economic sectors most affected by the Government's regulations, but a day later the acting Minister of Health,

Alba Vergés

, cooled expectations when referring to the danger of a fourth wave of Covid due to the stagnation in the decline of the

pandemic

indices

.

Along the same lines, the acting president of the Generalitat, Pere Aragonès, said yesterday that he was not in favor of "taking one step forward and two steps back."

Despite the fact that the

hospitality

sector

had demanded this week a relaxation in its hours,

bars

and

restaurants

will maintain the same current limitations: they can open from 7.30 to 10.30 and from 13.00 to 16.30.

The rest of the day they can only serve take out products and the capacity is still limited to 30%, with a maximum of four people per table.

In the

educational

field

,

overnight school trips will be allowed as long as they are with the same

bubble group

in the class.

In addition, the Catalan Executive is studying restoring

presence

at the

universities

for second-year students from March 8.

Regarding

sports

, classes inside

gyms

may reach up to 30% capacity, regardless of the number of people participating.

In

pools

, as in outdoor spaces, 50% of the capacity will be allowed.

The measures updated by the Government will be valid for one week.

The curfew (from 6:00 to 22:00), the perimeter closure of the autonomous community and the district confinement will continue without variations.
