WORLD:

Mr. Haciyev, after the war in autumn, your country and Armenia are now talking at summit meetings about the reconstruction and transport links to Karabakh.

Does that mean the decades-long conflict has been resolved?

Hikmet Haciyev:

Azerbaijan resolved the military conflict through military-political means.

After almost 30 years, we liberated areas that Armenia had militarily occupied.

We have thus also created a model for the implementation of UN resolutions.

Incidentally, it was the first time in history that an affected country had implemented UN Security Council resolutions itself.

Azerbaijani refugees and internally displaced persons displaced in the 1990s can now finally return to their homeland with dignity.

We have entered a post-conflict phase.

WORLD:

But the core region of Nagorno-Karabakh within Karabakh is still largely occupied by Armenia.

Have you given up Nagorno-Karabakh?
