Amsterdam (dpa) - The former Reemtsma kidnapper Thomas Drach will be brought before an Amsterdam judge again today.

A court spokeswoman said there will be advice on the extradition of the Rhinelander to Germany.

A quick transfer to the German authorities is not to be expected.

Drach was arrested on Tuesday in Amsterdam on suspicion of three robberies in Cologne and Frankfurt / Main in 2018 and 2019.

The Cologne judiciary had requested his extradition.

When the Amsterdam judge will decide is unclear.

It will be a non-public hearing, as the spokeswoman said in Amsterdam.

The 60-year-old Drach was brought to court for the first time on Wednesday.

The arrest warrant was first checked there.

The extradition process can take up to 90 days.

The judiciary in both countries is extremely reluctant to provide information - possibly so as not to endanger ongoing investigations.

Because accomplices are still being sought.

The investigators were able to track down Drach using an escape vehicle registered in the Netherlands.

A security guard was seriously injured in a robbery.

Drach and accomplices kidnapped the Hamburg heir to the tobacco dynasty, Jan Philipp Reemtsma, in March 1996.

He was released in autumn 2013 after serving a long prison term.
