Oberstdorf (dpa) - Jonna Sundling and Johannes Kläbo won their first gold medals at the Nordic World Ski Championships in Oberstdorf.

The 26-year-old Swede and the 24-year-old top favorite from Norway confidently prevailed in the finals of the sprint competitions on Thursday.

For Sundling, who won the final ahead of the Norwegian Maiken Caspersen Falla and the Slovenian Anamarija Lampic, it is the first world championship title.

Two years ago, Kläbo had already won World Championship gold in the sprint, team sprint and relay in Seefeld.

Over the 1.5 kilometers in the Allgäu, he won ahead of his two compatriots Erik Valnes and Haavard Solaas Taugböl.
