Weak Milan, heavy Wall Street

It was a volatile session for European stock exchanges, which lost energy after the opening of Wall Street. Milan lost 0.15%, London 0.11% and Paris 0.24%, while Frankfurt was heavier at -0.69% In Piazza Affari, after the presentation of the accounts, Tenaris flew (+13, 7%). The heaviest share of the Ftse Mib instead was Saipem (-9.2%). The spread between the Italian BTP and the German Bund widened again to 102 basis points with our ten-year yield rising to 0.80%. Slightly rising rates also for the 5-year BTP today at auction, while the Treasury announces the imminent issue of the green BTP. Overseas the Nasdaq is still in deep red at -2.2%, while the Dow Jones loses a point. The "mania" for Gamestop explodes again on the Nasdaq, pushed by non-professional traders: the stock leaps to + 40% after an opening at + 70%.
