Deggendorf (dpa / lby) - A garden shed on the outskirts of Deggendorf may have prevented worse in an accident on Wednesday afternoon.

According to the police, a truck driver lost control of his truck on the road above a settlement and slid down the steep slope towards a residential building.

The truck stayed on its side a few meters above the house.

The garden shed prevented further crashes, said a police spokesman.

The 52-year-old driver was released from the cab by the fire brigade and was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

The truck suffered 50,000 euros in damage, and the garden shed and trees were also damaged.

In addition, the crash barriers that had been broken by the truck were destroyed.

The cause of the accident was initially unclear.
