Erfurt (dpa / th) - In Thuringia, the seven-day incidence of new corona infections remains about twice as high as the national value.

According to the State Chancellery, on Thursday (as of midnight) it was almost 120 new cases per 100,000 inhabitants within seven days.

Nationwide, 61.7 new cases per 100,000 inhabitants were registered statistically during this period.

The Schmalkalden-Meiningen district is particularly badly affected with an incidence value of 206.5, which is the fourth highest value among the districts nationwide.

From Wednesday to Thursday, 582 more new corona infections were reported.

In the intensive care units of hospitals, 130 people seriously ill with Covid-19 were treated, 70 had to be ventilated invasively.

The number of infected people has increased to 74,879 since the pandemic began.

31 other people infected with the Sars-CoV2 virus died.

This increased the number of corona deaths to 2,810 since the pandemic began.
