Hamburg (AP) - Football professional Christopher Avevor from FC St. Pauli has undergone another operation.
"Our captain had a successful operation on his left ankle," announced the Hanseatic second division team on Thursday.
The intervention on the 29-year-old central defender was carried out in Munich.
Avevor is expected back on Friday in Hamburg, where he will then begin his rehab.
How long the defense chief will be out is open.
Avevor broke his left fibula in August 2019 in the home game against SpVgg Greuther Fürth and tore the front syndesmosis ligament.
He celebrated his comeback in May 2020.
In December of last year, however, a second operation was necessary because over time an instability in the operated joint had developed.
