Berlin (dpa) - Despite the alarming situation at Hertha BSC, coach Pal Dardai would like to see positive energy and self-confidence from his professionals.

"It's very difficult," said the Hungarian before the Berlin game in the Bundesliga at VfL Wolfsburg, who were in good shape.

But when he rated his team's recent appearances, he also saw positive things.

“At some point there have to be points and a victory.

We have our plan, ”stressed Dardai on Thursday.

Hertha has not won for eight games and is ranked 15th in the table, tied with 16th Arminia Bielefeld.

Dardai and sports director Arne Friedrich see no reason for panic or actionism.

A repatriation campaign for Vedad Ibisevic, who is currently without a club, as brought into play by the “Bild” newspaper, is not an option for either of them.

“Basically, the fact is: the squad for the season is up,” said Friedrich.

«Vedad was our captain.

He's a great guy.

Sometimes we still talk on the phone, ”Dardai observed.

But it is not the time for an emergency nail: «In the hectic phase we shouldn't talk about it.

We have full confidence in our players and don't want to make them unsafe. "

The now 36-year-old Ibisevic did not get a new contract with Hertha last summer after five years.

At Schalke 04, the Bosnian was suspended at the end of last year.

On Saturday (3:30 p.m.) in Wolfsburg, Dardai wants to bet on center forward Jhon Cordoba, who is returning after a long injury break.

“When he's fit and really top, he makes the difference.

He has a positive charisma, ”said Dardai.

The ex-Cologne Cordoba may well be back in the starting line-up when he makes his comeback.

Berliners Jordan Torunarigha and Marvin Plattenhardt, who are still behind in training, will be absent, as will the injured Dedryck Boyata and Mathew Leckie.
