"But if it turns out that the people who are at the vaccination center are not authorized, no vaccination can be carried out," said Helfrich.

"The staff is instructed to turn away people who are currently not authorized to vaccinate."

But there are also two other groups among the "false registrants": 22 percent and thus a good quarter of the vaccine cheats from last week, according to the information, had their main residence outside of Hamburg.

“The principle of residence applies to vaccinations - that is, people are only entitled to their main place of residence in their commune.” In such cases, as to check the age, a look at the identity card is enough.

"In 19 percent of the cases, a missing, inadequate or not credible proof of activity was the reason for the rejection," said Helfrich.

In the coming weeks, the vaccination capacity in Hamburg is expected to increase significantly and with it the capacity utilization of the vaccination center, in which a good 2000 vaccinations per day were recently carried out.

According to the health authorities, in April - if the vaccine is delivered as agreed - the maximum capacity of 7,000 vaccinations per day could be achieved.
