Kalkar (dpa / lnw) - A beaver walked calmly through the streets of Kalkar on the Lower Rhine on Thursday morning.

The rodent ran into a 42-year-old man in the city center at around 6:30 a.m.

When he pulled out his cell phone and wanted to take a picture of the animal, the beaver stood on its back legs and hissed loudly, said the police from Kleve.

Obviously, the beaver had little interest in "a morning photo shoot".

Where the beaver, which normally inhabits bodies of water and bank areas, came from and where it disappeared to, could not be determined, it said.
