Brunsbüttel (dpa / lno) - The state of Schleswig-Holstein has provided a total of almost 30 million euros in funding for municipal road construction in the current year.

Several construction projects are scheduled to begin on Monday.

"We will continue in 2021 where we left off in 2020 and bring our road network back into shape," said Transport Minister Bernd Buchholz (FDP) on Thursday.

The specific projects were long overdue.

The state is currently funding the construction of a new bridge over the Braake in Brunsbüttel (Dithmarschen district) in the course of Kreisstraße 75 with more than 1.6 million euros.

According to the ministry, the total cost is 2.75 million euros.

Also in Dithmarschen, the state is contributing around 1.1 million euros to the renovation of Kreisstraße 62 in Norddeich (total costs 2 million euros).

In the Segeberg district, the state contributes a good half of the roughly 900,000 euros construction costs for a bridge over the Rothenmühlenau near Rickling.

All three projects should be finished in autumn.
