Leipzig (AP) - Bundesliga club RB Leipzig apparently has to involve the sister club Salzburg in the transfer of Dayot Upamecano to Bayern Munich.
According to a report in the "Salzburger Nachrichten", it is said to be a 20 percent stake.
In view of the transfer fee of 42.5 million euros that Bavaria has to pay for the French international due to a clause, 8.5 million euros would have to flow to Salzburg.
"Upamecano was a very good transfer for us," said Salzburg's sports director Christoph Freund of the newspaper.
Leipzig signed Upamecano for ten million euros from the Austrian champions in January 2017.
When national player Timo Werner switched to Chelsea last summer, Leipzig was unable to keep the entire transfer fee of 53 million euros.
According to a report by the "Kicker", Werner's youth club VfB Stuttgart received six million euros through a participation agreement.
The attacker moved from VfB to Leipzig in the summer of 2016, including later bonus payments for a total of 14 million euros.
