Kiel (dpa / lno) - The renewable energies sector in Schleswig-Holstein is demanding an agreement from the state government on future expansion targets for onshore wind energy, photovoltaics and biomass.

The demand is there, said the managing director of the regional association for renewable energies, Fabian Faller, on Wednesday.

"Now we need the legal requirements in order to actually be able to replace fossil fuels."

From the point of view of the head of the ARGE Netz group, Stephan Frense, the pioneering role that Schleswig-Holstein had for a long time is not a matter of course.

“Other federal states can also do the energy transition,” he said.

The Schleswig-Holstein branch manager of the Federal Wind Energy Association, Marcus Hrach, is convinced that the climate crisis will be one of the most important issues in the upcoming election campaigns.

"The course is in the hands of the federal and state governments."

Hrach demanded that the federal government now adjust the expansion plans for wind energy to demand and "take your foot off the brakes".

After the Corona crisis, a "sustainable economic miracle" could begin.

Currently, Germany is only running alongside with renewable energies.

And it threatens to run after inactivity soon.
