Chemnitz (dpa) - The allegations of abuse against the Chemnitz gymnastics trainer Gabriele Frehse also concern the judiciary.

As a spokeswoman for the Chemnitz public prosecutor confirmed to the German Press Agency on Wednesday, an investigation has been underway against Frehse and a doctor since December 2020, including on suspicion of bodily harm.

First the "Spiegel" reported about it.

After an investigation by a Frankfurt law firm, the Deutsche Turner-Bund (DTB) had found “serious breaches of duty” by Frehse.

Ex-world champion Pauline Schäfer and other gymnasts had accused Frehse of harassing her in training, administering medication without a doctor's prescription and not allowing any objection.

Frehse has denied the allegations several times and accused the DTB of denying her access to files.

The sports committee of the German Bundestag wanted to deal with the topic on Wednesday under the agenda item “Consequences for training structures from the incidents at OSP Saxony / Federal base in Chemnitz”.

Frehse has been released from the Chemnitz Olympic base since December.
