Dortmund (dpa / lnw) - With around 70 cars, anti-vaccination opponents demonstrated on Tuesday evening in a car parade organized by offshoots of the “lateral thinking” movement in downtown Dortmund.
According to the police, there were multiple blockades and interference from counter-demonstrators from the left spectrum.
The motto of the moving protest train was «#ichlassemichNICHTimpfen».
The car parade - which according to the police with around 70 vehicles was significantly smaller than registered - was initially blocked by around 80 and later by around 200 people with bicycles, the police said.
There were several dangerous situations.
Cars were occasionally damaged by counter-demonstrators.
After a car parade participant broke down, four counter-demonstrators attacked the car.
A baseball bat was involved in the argument.
The police said it was still unclear who had used it.
Counter-demonstrators of the «Autonomen Antifa 170» claimed in a press release that the parade participant had attacked with him.
According to the police, a machete was found in his car.
The incident will continue to be investigated.
