Bremen (dpa / lni) - After the announced realignment of the Lufthansa commercial aviation school in Bremen, the works council and unions have criticized the course of the Lufthansa Group.

According to a statement from the works council of the pilot school Lufthansa Aviation Training Germany and the trade unions Verdi and Vereinigung Cockpit, the company is deliberately concealing the complete closure of the traditional commercial aviation school.

The promise that the Bremen location will remain as the theoretical competence center for pilot training, while the flying training will be completely relocated to Rostock-Laage, nevertheless means that all over 100 employees of Lufthansa Aviation Training Germany at the Bremen location will lose their jobs, criticized works council chief Monika Kremer on Thursday.

Lufthansa announced last week that only theory should be taught in Bremen.

This means that the Bremen training flights with Cessna Citation training jets are expected to end in mid-2022. Negotiations on a reconciliation of interests and a social plan are to be held for around 100 employees.
