Seven adolescents in custody

Six young people were arrested shortly after the facts by the Anti-Crime Brigade, and "all showed traces of blood," said the prosecutor of the Republic of Evry, Caroline Nisand.

They are between 15 and 17 years old and live "for the most part" in Quincy-sous-Sénart.

Among them, a 17-year-old minor, who presented "a head trauma, a broken nose, and bruises on the face", was taken into custody under medical supervision.

"He is a friend of the young deceased," said the prosecutor.

The seventh young person in police custody is 15 years old.

He went to the police station on his own on Tuesday evening and presented himself to the police as the perpetrator of the stab wounds.

Already known for carrying a knife, he says he regrets his gesture.

According to the first elements of the investigation, the alleged perpetrator declared in police custody to have "panicked" and "involuntarily stabbed," AFP said.

"30 to 40 young people"

The public prosecutor also gave new information on the circumstances of the brawl, which pitted two bands "made up of 30 to 40 young people in black uniforms, armed with sticks, crutches, knives".

"Subject to any reservation at this time, it was expected that the older ones, 17, would let the smaller 13-14 year olds fight under their supervision. It appears that the younger ones fought, the older ones being behind Among them, the one who stabbed him went into contact. He found himself surrounded and stabbed twice "in the direction of the victims.

Another 13-year-old was indeed injured, but his life is no longer in danger.

The investigation was entrusted to the departmental security of Essonne on the counts of "murder on a 15-year-old minor, attempted murder on a 15-year-old minor, and violence aggravated by two circumstances, in assembly and with weapons".

An examining magistrate must be seized on Thursday, Caroline Nisand said.
