Six teenagers aged 14 to 16 were presented this Wednesday to an examining magistrate, as part of the investigation into the murder of a 14-year-old schoolgirl stabbed on Monday in Saint-Chéron, in Essonne, during of a brawl.

The prosecution requested the provisional detention of one of them, aged 16, for murder of a 15-year-old minor, aggravated violence and participation in a group with a view to committing violence, said the prosecutor of Evry, Caroline Nisand.

Already known for two offenses, but unrelated to acts of violence, this teenager admitted "his involvement in the fatal blow".

Against the five other minors, the prosecution proposed the qualification of aggravated violence and placement under judicial supervision, with a ban on appearing in Ile-de-France and a ban on contact with the co-perpetrators, the victims and their families.

A rivalry that dates back to summer

According to the press release from the prosecutor, the rivalry between minors from Dourdan and Saint-Chéron dates back to this summer "against a background of messages, insults and provocations on social networks".

Monday, several miners from Dourdan went to Saint-Chéron to "do battle".

“A fight, with punches and kicks, ensued during which several miners from Saint-Chéron were injured.

During the brawl, one of the miners from Dourdan displayed a knife before giving a fatal blow to the 14-year-old girl, who died Monday night in hospital.
