The Paris Bourse fell 0.19% Tuesday at mid-session after an opening up, affected by new tension in the bond market pending a speech from the President of the US Central Bank.

The flagship CAC 40 index dropped 10.96 points to 5,756.48 points around 12:30 p.m. (11:30 a.m. GMT), the day after a decline of 0.11%.

Futures on Wall Street foreshadowed an opening down 0.22% on the Dow Jones, 1.55% on the Nasdaq and 0.64% on the S&P 500.

At the center of concerns as for several sessions, the bond market, reflecting inflation expectations.

The ten-year interest rate on French debt is moving to -0.05%, the highest since mid-2020, driven by the US rate which reached its highest levels in one year.

"Investors continue to adopt a wait-and-see attitude to key data from Europe and the United States, with inflation levels at the center of all economic discussions," said Pierre Veyret, analyst for ActivTrade.

The Governor of the Banque de France François Villeroy de Galhau tried to put out the fire on Monday, saying there is "no risk of overheating" inflationary in Europe, the rise in long rates should not affect him the Old Continent.

This overheating of the economy is more feared in the United States where a massive economic stimulus plan is in the pipeline.

"The question of long rates continues to plague the markets", underlines Hervé Goulletquer, strategist for LBPAM, which explains the high expectations aroused by the speech, on Tuesday, of the president of the Fed Jerome Powell in front of the Senate American then the next day before the House of Representatives.

Drug approved for Sanofi

The pharmaceutical group (+ 0.48% to 76.67 euros) announced that the American Medicines Agency (FDA) had approved its drug Libtayo for the treatment of advanced stage lung cancer.

Tech under pressure

Technology stocks were red lanterns of the CAC 40 the day after a plunge of the Nasdaq index in the United States: STMicroelectronics fell 3.55% to 32.63 euros, and Dassault Systèmes 3.77% to 173.75 euros.

The airline takes advantage of the British

The sector benefited from the English deconfinement announcements: Aéroports de Paris jumped 4.87% to 104.50 euros, and Air France-KLM 3.92% to 5.20 euros.
