Oldenburg / Osnabrück (dpa / lni) - In the dispute over a district court ruling against the former wind power entrepreneur Hendrik Holt, the public prosecutor achieved partial success.

The Oldenburg Higher Regional Court (OLG) followed a complaint from the Osnabrück public prosecutor's office.

The Osnabrück Regional Court has to deal with a judgment against Holt in an appeal.

The OLG announced on Tuesday.

In addition, the OLG decided that Holt had to remain in custody because of the complex procedure.

The public prosecutor had initiated an investigation against Holt for fraud of around ten million euros, but also charged him with other fraud allegations in the complex.

Last October, the district court sentenced Meppen Holt to a prison sentence of two and a half years for fraud.

In the appeal proceedings, the Osnabrück Regional Court overturned the judgment and the arrest warrant because the indictment allegedly was incorrect.

However, the judges at the OLG came to a different conclusion, at least in part of the indictment.

It was about the accusation of deceiving business partners Holts in connection with the marketing of project rights for the construction of a wind farm.

The damage should be around 280,000 euros.

In this context, the Osnabrück Regional Court must now set a new date.

The "Neue Osnabrücker Zeitung" reported on it first.

Holt has been in custody since April 2020.

Because of the extensive investigations in the main proceedings, according to the decision of the OLG, remand detention may be continued.

According to earlier information from his lawyer, Holt has now largely admitted the allegations.
