Berlin (dpa / bb) - The main topic on the Senate's agenda for today's meeting is further help for Berlin companies that are severely affected by the corona pandemic.

On the one hand, there is a state program with a total volume of 150 million euros.

It is intended to supplement the so-called restart aid announced by the federal government and to help self-employed people and small businesses in the craft and service industries who cannot open due to the pandemic.

The idea is to increase the federal government's re-start aid for self-employed people through a state subsidy and to pay a subsidy to small businesses with a maximum of five employees.

Another program is intended to help bridge the time until promised federal aid is actually paid out.

This bridging loan should then be repaid when the federal funds are available.

The Senate also wants to advise on aid for cultural institutions such as theaters and concert halls that are investing in air purification systems against the background of the corona pandemic.

Another topic is a bill from the Senate Department for Justice and Consumer Protection.

It should ensure more transparency with a view to hygiene standards, for example in restaurants, cafes or canteens.

The results of the food inspectors should be presented in the form of a bar chart, which the companies concerned must display.
