Covid.Madrid recruits retired health workers to give vaccines
The Community of Madrid will begin this Thursday the vaccination against Covid-19 of those over 80 years old, who will be summoned to go to their health centers.
For this phase of the process, which will last at least on Friday and Monday,
50,000 doses of the Pfizer brand
have been planned
,
to which another 80,000 will be added that are scheduled to arrive next week.
The same day also begins the
process of immunization of teachers
, in this case with vials of AstraZeneca, so that for now only those who are under 55 years will be served.
The injections will be given in the afternoon at the outpatient clinics, at the Wanda Metropolitano and at the Isabel Zendal Hospital.
In fact, the center specialized in pandemics will join the vaccination campaign in Madrid as of Tuesday.
The first
400 people up to 55 years
cited will have to go to pavilion three and will be treated by professionals from the medical complex itself.
The groups selected for inoculation at the Zendal, also with AstraZeneca, are the
Foreign Health
personnel
, AENA
, Public Health inspectors, the Social Security Institute, caregivers of minor offenders, forensic doctors, Health Sciences students and veterinarians.
The president of the Community of Madrid, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, has indicated this Monday that the objective of her Government is that before the summer a process of "macrovaccination" can begin.
"As we immunize older people,
we will continue to drop to younger age groups," he
indicated.
For this phase of the process, the Ministry of Health will recruit retired doctors and nurses up to 70 years of age who voluntarily want to "actively join in to help stop the pandemic generated by the coronavirus."
The work will be remunerated
, compatible with the collection of the pension and with a duration of one month extendable for periods of equal or less until the end of the state of alarm.
