Figures from the Swedish Public Health Agency show that up to week 6 (Latest update), the Kalmar Region had vaccinated a larger proportion of the elderly included in Phase 1 than Kronoberg.

Phase 1 includes people who live in special housing - and people with home care.

If you look exactly at the numbers, it looks like this:

Kalmar region:

86 percent of those living in special housing have received the first injection, and 77 percent are fully vaccinated.

68 percent of those who have home care have received the first injection, and 23 percent are fully vaccinated.

Region Kronoberg:

81 percent of those who live in special housing have received the first injection, and 67 percent are fully vaccinated.

52 percent of those who have home care have received the first injection, and 19 percent are fully vaccinated.

According to official statistics, Kronoberg after Kalmar is at vaccine rate.

"Does not save vaccine"

The statistics also show that up to week 6, Region Kalmar had used 99 percent of its delivered vaccine doses, while Region Kronoberg had used 72 percent of its delivered doses.

The head of the pharmaceutical unit at Region Kronoberg, Magnus Munge, does not know exactly why the figures differ, but believes that there may be several reasons, such as backlogs in the statistics.

- We do not save a vaccine, says Magnus Munge to SVT.
