Rüthen (dpa / lnw) - The police stopped a motorcyclist who raced through the Soest district at up to 200 kilometers per hour.

The 60-year-old was noticed by a civilian police patrol on Saturday at 160 km / h in Rüthen, as the police announced on Monday.

He did not react to signs to stop, but continued his journey at high speed.

During the next ten kilometers it reached a top speed of 200 km / h and drove through speed 70 zones at up to 180 kilometers per hour.

The police secured the biker's driver's license and initiated proceedings for grossly illegal and inconsiderate driving, which could result in a prison sentence of up to two years.
